About the project

The IT training scholarship program, implemented in partnership with Beetroot Academy, aims to support the most vulnerable populations living in the Ukrainian government-controlled areas of Donetsk and Luhansk regions. The program pays special attention to internally displaced individuals.

The initiative was supported by the Embassy of Canada in Ukraine and Global Affairs Canada.

Our impact today

Residents of frontline regions have limited access to stable work and professional development opportunities. Scholarship for IT training provides a chance to master digital skills and improve economic prospects even in challenging environments.

Access to IT education

We provide an opportunity to receive quality IT education for vulnerable populations living in frontline regions by removing financial and geographical barriers. Our programs include online courses, mentoring support, and hands-on classes that enable students to gain the skills they need for a successful career in the IT field.

Retraining and economic sustainability

We support the retraining of participants by providing them with access to modern training programs that meet the current requirements of the labor market. This includes the study of the latest technologies such as artificial intelligence, data analytics, and cybersecurity, enabling participants not only to gain sought-after skills but also to provide themselves with stable sources of income in a fast-changing economic environment.

New profession and remote employment

We create opportunities for new careers and transition to remote employment, which is especially important for people in regions with limited labor markets. Our programs include training using modern technologies such as cloud computing and virtual work environments, allowing participants to work from anywhere in the world. This not only expands their career prospects but also contributes to the development of the local economy.

Who we help

The programme is aimed at people who live in or have been forced to leave frontline regions and are looking for a safe and realistic path to professional implementation. The focus is on access to education as a tool for long-term economic stability and the ability to work independently of the local labor market.

Internally Displaced Persons

People who have been forced to leave their homes because of the war and need support for professional implementation, restoration of economic stability and access to new employment opportunities.

Vulnerable communities of frontline regions

Residents of government-controlled areas of Donetsk and Luhansk regions, for whom access to stable work and quality education is limited, and acquiring digital skills is a way to improve economic prospects.

Systemic impact of the program

The program was designed for two years and provided for 380 scholarships that covered 50% — 100% of the cost of tuition and associated costs.

The project has created a real opportunity for residents of frontline regions to gain modern digital skills, a new profession and improve economic prospects.
