About the project

This is an online project for people who have experienced forced displacement, returned from abroad, or lost a stable income and are looking for a new career path.

The program combines technical and non-technical IT tracks with structured curricula, hands-on practice, and mentor support. The flexible online format allows participants to balance learning with work or family responsibilities.

Groups are formed gradually, and applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. A dedicated track with 100 places is open for veterans and their families.

Tuition is covered by the Susanne Hobohm Foundation (up to 90%, see eligibility below).

Why it matters

War, displacement, and job loss have made many families' incomes unstable. Solutions are needed that provide practical skills and a path to employment, including remote work.

Professional transition and stability

We support people in changing their professional paths and rebuilding economic stability, helping to build a new career trajectory and gradually regain financial confidence.

Practical digital skills

We provide applied digital skills relevant to the modern labor market, which can be used both for remote work and for employment in Ukrainian companies.

Career orientation and employment

We provide career orientation and employment support, helping participants better understand the demands of the market, prepare for the job search and take the first steps in a new profession.

Who we help

The program targets people who live in Ukraine and whose jobs, homes, or incomes have been affected by the war and who are looking to transition into careers in IT and related fields.

War veterans

Individuals discharged from military service who are looking for a new career path.

Families of veterans

Family members of people discharged from military service.

Families of defenders

Family members of prisoners of war, defenders who are missing in action, or defenders who have been killed in action.

Internally Displaced Persons

Those who have been forced to relocate and are looking for a stable career in the digital sector.

People with disabilities and their caregivers

Those who value a flexible format, support, and the opportunity to study online in a way that fits their life circumstances.

Young people from small communities

Residents aged 17–25 of towns and villages with a population under 30,000.

Single parents

Parents who are raising a child or children under the age of 17 on their own.

People who have returned from abroad or from other regions

Those who are planning to enter the workforce in Ukraine after returning from abroad or relocating from other regions of the country.

Funding: the grant covers 90% of tuition. Any personal contribution (up to 10%) is agreed individually, and inability to pay it does not prevent you from applying — please submit your application and we will review your situation.

Systemic impact of the program

The program offers people who are starting their careers anew the opportunity to pursue a modern profession and transition to remote work.

In addition to dedicated project cohorts, some grant-funded places are in Beetroot Academy’s open cohorts, where participants study alongside other students.

In 2026, around 100 participants have started training through the program.
