Beetroot Academy Student Code of Conduct

Beetroot Academy creates a safe, professional, and mutually respectful learning environment in which every participant has the opportunity to grow, ask questions, and develop expertise without fear of discrimination, pressure, or disrespect.

This Code of Conduct defines standards of behavior and principles of interaction for:

  • students of paid programs;
  • students of grant-funded programs;
  • participants of the Academy’s online and offline events;
  • participants of other events and programs organized or supported by Beetroot Academy.

The Code of Conduct applies to all formats of interaction -  during classes, in chats, on the learning platform, during events, on social media, as well as in any other communication related to learning or participation in the Academy’s programs. Registration for or participation in a Beetroot Academy program constitutes full agreement with the provisions of this Code and an obligation to comply with them.

Our Values

The Code of Conduct of Beetroot Academy is based on our core values: responsibility, trust, transparency, integrity, equality, and sustainable development. These values shape the culture of interaction within the Academy and define the expected behavior of every participant in the learning process.

  • Responsibility. Each student is responsible for their own progress, compliance with course rules, and the impact of their behavior on other members of the community. Active participation, respect for deadlines, and adherence to interaction guidelines form the foundation of shared success.
  • Trust and Openness. We support honest and open dialogue in which diverse opinions and questions are a natural part of learning. Feedback is provided constructively and used for development, both personal and team-based.
  • Equality and Respect. We respect the dignity of every individual and create an inclusive environment. Discrimination, harassment, humiliation, hate speech, or aggressive behavior are unacceptable regardless of age, sex, gender identity, marital status, religion, ethnicity, nationality, physical abilities, or any other characteristics.
  • Mindful Communication. We encourage constructive, respectful, and inclusive communication in all formats — during classes, in chats, on learning platforms, and on social media. Aggression, insults, spreading rumors, devaluation, or manipulation are unacceptable.
  • Safe Environment. Respect for personal boundaries, empathy, and psychological safety are shared responsibilities of all participants in the educational process. Everyone has the right to an environment free from pressure, intimidation, or toxic behavior.
  • Sustainable Development. We believe that learning does not end with receiving a certificate but evolves into a professional community. We expect students to treat intellectual property, educational materials, and the Academy’s reputation with care. By supporting a culture of mutual assistance today, you build a strong professional network and sustainable development in the future.

Zero Tolerance Policy

Beetroot Academy adheres to a zero-tolerance policy toward any actions or behavior that create an unsafe, hostile, discriminatory, or toxic environment.

Such violations include (but are not limited to):

  • Sexual Harassment.
    Any unwanted verbal, non-verbal, or physical conduct of a sexual nature that creates discomfort or undermines the dignity of another person. This may include (but is not limited to): insinuations, sexual jokes, comments about appearance or personal life, inappropriate propositions, unwanted messages, or physical contact.
  • Intimidation and Harassment.
    Threats, systematic harassment, blackmail, or other forms of pressure, both online and offline.
  • Offensive or Discriminatory Behavior.
    Insults, humiliation, threats, hate speech, discriminatory statements, aggressive or disrespectful communication, shouting, or any other forms of verbal aggression.
  • Intrusive or Repeated Behavior.
    Repeated actions or communication directed at a specific person that violate their personal boundaries or create a sense of discomfort or insecurity.
  • Violation of Privacy.
    Distribution or publication of personal data, photos, videos, or other information without the explicit consent of the relevant person.
  • Disruption of the Learning Process.
    Deliberate disruption of classes, systematic interference with the work of the group or instructor, creating chaos or a destructive atmosphere during learning.

Academic Integrity

Students of Beetroot Academy are required to adhere to the principles of academic integrity and responsible learning.

This includes:

  • completing learning assignments independently, unless otherwise explicitly provided by the course format;
  • refraining from plagiarism, misappropriation, or copying of others’ work;
  • not transferring their own work to other individuals for submission under another person’s name;
  • using artificial intelligence (AI) tools exclusively as supportive tools (for explanations, clarifications, error checking, or structuring ideas), but not as a substitute for independent completion of assignments;
  • providing feedback at the request of the Academy or grant partners (through official Academy channels);
  • participating in surveys, interviews, or preparation of reports regarding the learning process, if предусмотрено by the terms of the program.

Intellectual Property and Class Recordings

Full or partial audio or video recording of classes, lectures, workshops, or other educational events without the Academy's official permission is prohibited.

All educational materials, recordings, presentations, and methodological materials are the intellectual property of Beetroot Academy and are provided to students exclusively for personal use within the learning program. Their distribution, publication, or transfer to third parties without the Academy’s permission is prohibited.

Consequences of Violations

In the event of a violation of the provisions of this Code, the Academy reserves the right to:

  • conduct a clarification conversation;
  • issue a verbal or written warning;
  • temporarily restrict access to certain learning activities;
  • terminate access to the learning program without the possibility of reinstatement;
  • restrict participation in future Academy programs;
  • exclude a student from a grant-funded program (current or future).

The decision is made considering the nature of the violation, its recurrence, and its potential impact on the learning environment.

Reporting Violations

If you have experienced unacceptable behavior or witnessed it, we encourage you to report it. Your report helps maintain a safe and professional learning environment.

You may contact the course coordinator via the official program chat or email to  whistle@beetroot.academy or through an anonymous reporting form (add link here when we have it).

All reports are reviewed confidentially. The Academy guarantees the absence of any negative consequences or retaliation against individuals who report violations in good faith.

Complaint Review Procedure

Review Timeline

Confirmation of receipt of the report and an initial response are provided within 72 hours from the moment of submission. Further review timelines may depend on the complexity of the situation, the amount of information, and the need to involve additional persons in the review.

Confidentiality

Access to information will be granted only to a limited group of persons directly involved in reviewing the case. In cases where full anonymity is not possible (in particular, to ensure the safety of affected persons or to comply with legal requirements), the reporting person will be informed in advance.

Protection Against Retaliation

Any form of pressure, harassment, discrediting, or retaliation against a person who reported a violation or participated in its review is strictly prohibited. Such actions are considered a separate serious violation and may serve as grounds for immediate removal from the program or termination of cooperation.

Information Required for Review

For an effective and objective review of a report, please provide, if possible:

  • the date, time, and location of the incident (or the online platform where it occurred);
  • the names of involved persons and possible witnesses (if known);
  • a description of the violation;
  • available evidence (screenshots, links to messages, recordings, etc.).

The absence of complete information is not grounds for refusing to review a report.
